Nicolet Union High School Announces Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2024

Nicolet High School is proud to announce that nine candidates have been selected to the Class of 2024 Nicolet High School Athletic Hall of Fame. The candidates include seven athletes: Michael Kuffel (Class of ’70-Football, Wrestling, Track & Baseball), Jeffrey Hogan (Class of ’73-Football/Track), Keith Potter (Class of ’75-Football, Diving & Track), Tim Sheehy (Class of ’77-Basketball, Track & Baseball), Gayle Miller (Class of ’87-Tennis, Gymnastics & Track), Sam Arieff (Class of '90-Diving, Wrestling & Baseball), Parker Keckeisen (Class of ’19, Wrestling & Football), one Coach: Gus Kaufmann (2003-2024) (Wrestling & Track) and one Distinguished Service: Mort Grodsky (1991-Present).

Michael Kuffel was a four sport star varsity athlete.  Jeffrey Hogan was a football and track star who set many school records.  Keith Potter earned 8 varsity letters and was among the best divers in school history.  Tim Sheehy was team Captain, MVP and All Conference in both basketball and baseball.  Gayle Miller dominated in three varsity sports and was a key member of Nicolet’s State Champion Gymnastics team in 1985.  Sam Arieff was an All State Diver and Baseball player.  Parker Keckeisen is the greatest wrestler in school history winning two state titles.  Gus Kaufmann coached several state level Wrestling and Track athletes at Nicolet for 21 years.  Mort Grodsky has been an integral part of Nicolet Athletics as a volunteer and school board member since 1991, having attended more than 600 Nicolet athletic events.

The Nicolet Hall of Fame honors former student athletes, coaches and other individuals who have provided distinguished service to Nicolet High School athletics. A Hall of Fame Committee comprised of Nicolet Athletic Staff, past and present, chose these nine individuals from a large pool of nominees.

“We’re proud of the many great athletes and coaches of Nicolet’s past and present,” said Nicolet Athletic Director Kirk Krychowiak. “We look forward to honoring another great group of inductees for their hard work and dedication to Nicolet athletics.”

The candidates who make up the class of 2024 will be honored at halftime of the Nicolet Varsity Football game when it hosts Slinger on Friday, September 20th.  There will be a dinner/induction ceremony in the Knights Hall at Nicolet High School beginning at 4:00pm followed by the football halftime recognition in the new Nicolet Stadium.  Dinner/Ceremony tickets will be available to the public beginning July 29th.  Call 414-351-8145.

Nicolet High School Congratulates all the inductees and their families!

A Hall of Fame Committee composed of Nicolet Athletic Staff, Coaches and Alumni, voted in these three candidates from a pool of more than 50 nominees.  All inductees are chosen following a formal nomination process available to the community and on the Nicolet Website.
