Melannie Litscher began serving as the Director of Student Services at Nicolet Union High School District in 2024. Prior to this role, she was an administrator for over 170 school psychologists at Milwaukee Public Schools (MPS). Before her administrative position, she worked as a school psychologist in various K-12 schools within MPS, where she also mentored graduate students in school psychology and participated in district workgroups focused on school-based suicide prevention, risk assessment, non-suicidal self-injury, and culturally responsive educataional services. Additionally, she is an adjunct instructor at Alverno College and the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse, teaching courses related to special education, advanced psychoeducational assessment, and school-based crisis prevention and intervention.
Melannie’s professional interests include equitable school-based mental health services, inclusive special education practices, crisis prevention and intervention, and promoting antiracism and cultural equity in education. She earned her Bachelor’s (2011), Master’s (2012), and Educational Specialist (2014) degrees from UW – La Crosse, where she was also a member of the varsity volleyball team. She later obtained her Director of Special Education and Pupil Services certification (2018) from UW – Eau Claire.
